An annual survey revealed the things most Ukrainians would like to have but unable to get due to low income or life circumstances. So, what are the things that locals would love to get but can’t?

What Ukrainians lack the most

Once every two years, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine conducts a survey to examine people’s perception of their wealth status. Sociologists in this case talk about deprivation, which is understood as unability to satisfy certain kinds of needs. Some experts dubbed the research “Poverty indices”.

As reported by Finance.ua, the most common financial constraints among all population groups in Ukraine were:

• Inability to meet unexpected expenses from one’s own financial reserves — 60% (as compared to 64% in 2015).
• Shortage of funds for a week-long family vacation once a year — 52% (55% in 2015).
• Lack of money to pay for goods or healthcare services — 30 and 27%  respectively (32 and 27% in 2015).
• Unable to purchase a car — 29% (it was 29% in 2015 as well).
• Lack of home maintenance or repair services in town — 20% (22%).
• No emergency medical services in town — 15% (15%).
• Having no computer — 14% (15%).

We reported earlier that the average wage in Ukraine in May 2018 was approximately US $295, while the dream salary for the majority of people was revealed to be only $800.
