According to a popular belief, women like confident men. Confident guys easily attract ladies’ attention but they often promise much more then they are able or intend to deliver. However, ladies are getting smarter and know that falling for this type is fraught with perils. This is why some Ukrainian women, apparently, now prefer to date shy men.
Why Ukrainian women think shy men are great
Ukrainian lady named Lida used to be one of the girls who always fell for the wrong guy. The man she finally married was the one she didn’t even pay attention initially, KP.ua reported.
However, when our heroine got completely disappointed in men, she decided to take a break. It was when she finally noticed Vova, a very quiet and shy man she worked with. One day Lida went to get some food for lunch and suddenly a man in line started yelling at her. The quiet Vova, who was standing behind her in the queue, unexpectedly saved her by simply taking the guy out of the shop. That’s how the love story began and ended in her marrying the man who was always there, but she didn’t notice him.
From her own happy experience, Lida shares 7 advantages of marrying a shy man.
1. He never interrupts
You can chat with him for hours or even gossip about your girlfriends. He listens and allows you to speak your mind.
2. Even being silent with him feels comfortable
“You know, I used to be very tense all the time when we were silent for a long time,” recalls Lida. “And now I can relax. He does not say anything not because he’s waiting for me to say something. It is because we are both comfortable in silence.”
However, for many people silence is not a good sign. At first Lida was worried, so she constantly asked Vova if he was offended or upset about something. It took Lida some time to get used to, but now she is completely comfortable with it.
3. He never boasts of his success
Vova is a champion of a club of quiz wizards, at 16 he was offered a place to study at Cambridge but decided not to take it, and at 22 he started his own business. Lida had no idea about these things and only found out from Vova’s mom, when he took her to meet the parents.
4. He is very attentive to details and draws correct conclusions
Lida realized that Vova really listened to what she told him about her past, present and future. Therefore, she was extremely surprised when her husband asked if they should buy a house in the village where she was so happy in her childhood visiting grandparents and where the couple now plan to raise their future children. He always listened to her and knew what she wanted.
5. He does not try to instantly please others
Lida has many friends and she wanted to show Vova to all of them. He made a bad impression at them, because he was embarrassed to sing karaoke, did not dance at the club, ate only a little, never tried to get into the conversation. He seemed like Lida’s silent bodyguard. Lida was upset about it. Her friends actually thought that Vova didn’t like them. However, when Lida came to meet Vova’s friends, he was a star in his own circle! Vova just needed some more time to get comfortable with people and opens only to the people that he knew well. Which is a quality that Lida came to like, as she thinks it would safeguard her against other women wanting to flirt with her husband.
6. Not a word about the past
Lida says Vova is the best lover in the world. At first he was shy but then it changed. He never talks about his past girlfriends. Lida loves it because she always feels like his one and only.
7. He does not continuously repeat that he loves you, he actually loves you and proves it all the time with his actions
Lida was waiting for Vova to tell her that he loved her. He did it only when they were already married. It turned out that he loved her for a long time ago but did not consider it important to talk about it. He just does not get these words as well as things like heart-shaped balloons and baths with rose petals. Instead, Vova bought tickets to a concert of her favourite singer Nino Katamadze. Vova quietly washed dishes when Lida was too tired. When Lida was in the hospital, Vova came every day and brought her favorite treats.
Lida is also very happy that Vova never looks at other women. He is simply too shy to do it.

It’s good to know! But all people are different, right? Some women love confident men, some women love shy men, and there is plenty of those who pay attention to the whole different things. Also if someone has a thing for shy people, it’s a bit suspicious?? Like, maybe they have issues to and want the partners easy to control? I’ve seen this so many times lol.

I admit. I’m a shy person and have weak experience dating. I had not met anyone in 5 years. So I joined this site. But I didn’t know where to go from there. It took several trips to Ukraine to learn to be persistent and feel confident in meeting girls. But still, I feel awkward in conflicts so I don’t want to seem to come on too strong.
