For the first half a year of 2018 over 850 thousand foreigners visited Kiev. It’s 24% more out-of-state tourists than in the same period of 2017, which is a big jump in the number of foreign visitors.
Kiev attracted 24% more international travellers in 2018
Foreign tourism to Ukraine grew by 24% in the first 6 months of 2018, Anton Taranenko from the Department of Tourism stated, Finance.ua reported.
The number of arrivals exceeded pre-2014 period. This year 26% more international tourists arrived to the country than in 2013.
It’s an important milestone for the country. Taranenko believes it shows the health of the travel industry.
The majority of foreign guests came from Belarus, Israel, USA, Germany, Turkey, Great Britain, Italy, France and Georgia (the country).
Ukraine offers visa-free entry to citizens of the European Union and the USA.
Citizens of other countries can apply for an electronic visa online for a visit with tourist purposes for up to 30 days. The list includes Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Fiji, Costa Rica.
