Well, the simple thing is you can NOT “order a bride”. That’s the point. It’s pure ignorance, and calling women from other countries Mail Order Brides is like calling people racial names, right from the same basket.
I think the next time I hear it, I will ask people if they like being called “fatty”, “Gringo” or any of similar terms, that could be applicable to them.
Not to detract from you point because I think it is valid, but I actually like being called Gringo (and yes it has happened) it always makes me laugh. Sometimes I wonder if we give to much power to these notions by taking offense to them.
