Russians love weekend trips to other cities and towns, especially now that they cannot travel abroad. But how much are people prepared to spend on a getaway?
A weekend trip for 2 in Russia: How much should it cost?
Ticket booking site Tutu.ru asked its users how much are they prepared to spend in total on a weekend trip, including accommodation, meals, attractions, and tickets (or fuel cost) for two people. The answers may surprise you, knowing the cost of such getaways in your country.
Obviously, most Russians earn salaries under 30,000 rubles per month (USD 390). In the current economic climate it means they have to be frugal in expenses.
But you still probably do not expect that a 2-day weekend trip for 2 may cost under USD 65. This was the most popular answer in the survey, which 39% of travellers picked.
- 30% of users are prepared to spend $65-130 on such a trip.
- 15% of respondents are ready to fork out $130-195.
- Only 16% of users are happy to pay over USD195 for a two-day getaway for a couple.
We reported earlier about cheap prices at holiday resorts in Russia. You are able to get a room in a health resort by the sea, treatments, and meals, all for an average rate of $50 per person per day. But this is considered expensive, apparently, by the local standards. In fact, Russians joke that prices in Turkey are twice as cheap as in Crimea, which is also a picaresque location by the sea.

I would spend less than a hundred dollars/euros. Unless I went far away because of tolls and gasoline high price.
