If you are dating a Russian or Ukrainian woman you met online, the most important issue is to get to know and understand each other, and make sure it’s for real.
Sharing photos and videos is vital to building rapport and trust, but you also need to find out what type of person she is. Her English may be imperfect but you still will be able to understand her, even if through an online translator. As you converse on the dating site through emails, chat, video, and then Skype, you will start learning more about each other.
The way to raise these 58 questions in conversations with Russian, Ukrainian, or Belarusian women you are dating is when you have direct communication and are not paying-per-letter. If you are using PPL (pay-per-letter) dating model, there is no point in asking these questions, as you won’t know who is answering them — the girl in the photos or the translator of the agency. You may simply end up paying hundreds of dollars for no extra benefit to your relationship.
(Read more about PPL dating here: What is PPL dating? — Pay-per-letter and pay-per-minute relationships)
But if you have already established direct communication and 100% sure you are talking to the girl from the photos directly (for example, you talked to her on Skype without paying for a “video date”, and she gave you her direct email address and mobile phone number, which you use for communication) — in this case, asking these questions will enhance your relationship and build more trust. On Elenas Models, you have unlimited chat and mails available to you at no extra cost, so be sure to establish a quality connection before you decide to meet in person or invite your lady-friend to visit you.
Russian and Ukrainian women (and ladies in general) love talking about relationships. It helps girls to relive emotions they have experienced before and fall in love with you. It also assists you in selecting the person whose views and values are aligned with yours.
All questions have the correct Russian translation next to them (Ukrainians and Belarusians can speak it as well). If a Russian or Ukrainian lady you are talking to struggles to express herself in English, offer her to answer in Russian and you can then translate her response though an online translator like Google Transkate. If she speaks good English, it’s better to ask 3-4 questions at a time when you chat on video or Skype, so you can see her reaction.
In any case, it’s best not to send the list to women. Spice up your conversations and letters, but don’t turn it into an interview. Be ready to provide your own answers about these matters.
Remember, you are not only asking about it to get answers, but mainly to make Russian and Ukrainian women think, wake up their emotions and feelings, and, eventually, make them fall in love with you.
WARNING: Do NOT ask all these questions at once. Do NOT send them as a “list” to your lady. Ask no more than 3-4 questions at a time and edit them, so they sound unique.

i enjoy reading these blogs and think they are certainly interesting, helpful and imformative
Online dating websites have been reviewed for better understanding of the users. Elena’s is top-of-the-list. Thanks for the tips. OH, and in my opinion, telling the answer to a question first, then asking it, is the best approach.
Doug, if you tell the answer to the question first, then you will get the answer you want to hear (to match yours). It’s best to ask questions without indicating what you think. Russian and Ukrainian women believe the man should be the leader and they should follow.
Hi Elena, this is a good guideline of questions to ask. And I agree that it’s best to ask their opinions and answers first without clouding their judgement with yours. Thanks for the guidance.
Great information! Very interesting and learned a few things!
I can appreciate, Elena, that this website would rather stay clear of any political opinions, but recent experience has indicated to me that there should be a 59th question. I found myself on the receiving end of a scathing rant when, in general conversation regarding the current political climate in Ukraine, I was critical of the Russian leader.
Political views can be every bit as dividing as religious ones during the formulation of a new relationship.
Opinions welcome.
Can the girl comment this ?
All questions are very good and give to a man a lots of information, but some strange mans put all them together in couple of letters, so it’s all look like interview;))))
Thanks!)
Thank you so much for the guide lines very helpful.
What is funny I ask some of the question already.

Hi can you help me? I have been talking to a lady from Odessa for a few weeks now, I have booked a holiday to go to Odessa to meet her, if she meets me great if not ?????? what I would like to know is would it be ok to travel and stay in Odessa on my own, I always travel alone, Cuba etc and I have never had any problems doing so. What are the risks and problems I could encounter not having been to Odessa before, is it safe? do people speak English, for example if I… Read more »
Joseph, Odessa is a great cosmopolitan city and you will find English newspapers for expatriots in the lounge of your hotel, meet lots of other foreigners in the city centre. Upgrade your membership to Platinum or Ultimate before you leave, so you can quickly get phones/direct emails of other girls if something goes wrong with your lady (you won’t be able to use your credit card for online payment in Ukraine, if billing address is in another country). You can access direct contact details of women instantly on Ultimate, Platinum plans.
Look out for “shoppers”, read my latest article.
I wasn’t sure about the blog and particular this collection of questions. Now I can say they make sense and go easily in more detail than my own. I know now better which ones to ask and how. Thanks EM!
Elena, I compliment you on your ‘guide of questions to ask Russian and Ukrainian women when dating’. It will prove to be useful, I am sure. I wish I had these when I was going to Kiev a few years ago (2010) or when a few of the ladies came over to the US to visit me (2005). It would have been very helpful either time. I am still looking. I have a plan to go to Crimea in the fall if all continues to go well. I am concerned about the politics of it all. My background is NOT… Read more »
Nice list of questions. It helpes men to understand women’s mysterious Russian soul. It allowes to know more about their lives, their previous relationships and helps to know what do they love or do not love, and it will help to build new relationships. I would recommended these questions to my friends.
hi Elena some great questions here and i will use them all i expect. i have one question why do all ukrainian/russian women love flowers so much? is this tradition or is it likely that its just the girls i speak too?
lindsay
Lindsay, yes, women in post-USSR countries love flowers. Ask your mom or grandma, they probably will tell you flowers were expected from a gentleman courting a lady. All in all, girls like gifts, and flowers and candies are the most affordable.
All very great questions to consider. Question # 14 I think is very tricky. Having traveled to Kiev in December of 2013 (a very interesting time), I went through a marriage agency which set me up with 5 ladies that I had selected and that they agreed to meet with me. They all knew I was in Kiev to meet several women, but I wonder how they felt about it (I was hesitant to ask). As we all know, it is difficult to predict if 2 people will “click”, and it is easily a week’s investment of time and thousands… Read more »
David, as a woman, I had experience of men traveling to meet me in Russia. When I realized one of them was meeting other women as well, I felt betrayed (especially because he didn’t tell me about it, I figured it out myself) and disappointed in him. I guess if he told me upfront I could make a decision whether I wanted to invest a week of my life (very different from investing a few minutes daily into sending mails or talking on the phone) into him. So, he was out. Even though I was talking to many other men… Read more »
What a great idea to publish the list of questiobs to discuss! It could be really usefull and help to start dating. Though it may be rather difficult for someone to answer honestly. It concerns questions about features of character and addictions.
Veery formal question!
It could be the most boring date ever! Isnt it better just to chat? Discuss your favourite music, movie or your job.
Relax and try to be attentive. This is the recipe for success.
Vita_t, date or dating are two different things.
A date is a meeting.
Dating is a process of many dates.
Asking ALL questions at once isn’t recommended but knowing answers to all questions is highly advisable before you decide to proceed with a serious relationship or marriage.
Advice to use online translators sounds a bit funny. Do they really work properly? As for all the rest, thank you for useful and interesting stuff. Due to some of questions we can learn a prospective partner much more thoroughly than it may appear.
I do not understand why to use all these formalities. If you like a girl, and the girl like you, there is no need to learn this questionnaire. You just need to relax and enjoy the communication. It is the only way to achieve success in a relationships.
It’s not all the questions that you should ask the girl when you have a online dating. For example questions about last guys with whom the girl had relations. As a rule, it’s very important question, especially, when you on appointment to girls from Russia.
This is different. Young, pretty Russian girl is arranging to visit me in the US. We just met on line. She is paying for her air fair and only asks that I meet her plane.. She is emailing me lovey, dovey stuff. I’m thrilled but suspect a scam.
Eddie,
It’s the old well-known “catfish” scam. Get on SKYPE a.s.a.p. (with video)!! Or expect a sob story of how “she got arrested at the airport” (for having a valuable item that needs customs clearing, requiring travel insurance etc – and asking for money to be wired). Or “she got in a car accident” and either needs money for an urgent surgery or to pay for damages to the other car. In any case, this alleged “Russian girl” will never arrive but a money request will arrive for sure. Good luck. And don’t send money no matter what 🙂
hello,I have just lost $10,000 NZ dollars to a Russian Woman, firstly she wanted Air Fare, so I sent that, secondly she wanted Via Support Money so I sent her$4900 NZ dollars, then at the Air Port she wanted more money, because she claimed that the Authorities wouldn’t let her leave the Country until her Credit owed on her Apartment was Paid.
So with that I requested that she send my Visa money back and she said that she had paid that on her Apartment.. so the relationship broke down .and I told her where to go.. Peter
peter,
It’s an old online dating scam. What name did you send money to? Did you send it via Western Union? Report it to your Federal Police, provide receipts, copies of messages. It was not a Russian woman, it was a group of online criminals. Report it. They catch them easily.
