Ukrainian passport ranks above the USA by its passport strength, a recent update to the global passport rating revealed.
Ukrainian passport is #42 in the world
Strength of passports is determined by the number of countries it allows to enter visa-free. Ukrainian passport is now on 11th line of the rating and #42 in the world.
As several passports may allow access to the same number of countries, the rating by passport strength may include more than one country on one level of access. In total, only 41 other countries are ahead of Ukraine by the strength of its passport.
- New Zealand passport is the strongest with 129 countries open to access.
- Citizens of Australia, South Korea, Japan, Ireland, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Germany, and Austria are able to access 128 countries visa-free. These states are on top of the rating.
- Spain, Italy, Finland, France, Belgium, and Sweden passports give access to 127 countries.
- UK, Canada, Iceland, Norway, Lithuania, Portugal, Netherlands, and Denmark: 126.
- Latvia, Slovenia: 125.
Ukrainians are able to access 111 countries without applying for an entry visa in advance: 70 visa-free and 41 visa on arrival (by comparison, citizens of the USA can only access 92). #43 on the list is Vatican city, citizens of which are able to enter 108 countries visa-free.
Russia is at #24 with 86 countries assessable to its citizens: 52 visa-free and 34 visa on arrival).
Chinese passport is on 47 line, allowing to enter 63 states.
On the bottom of the rating are documents issued by Iraq and Afghanistan (#75) allowing access to 31 countries.
World’s population numbers are estimated at 7,791 billion at the present moment.
