French mobile phone company Orange created a smart phone that costs only USD 30, in partnership with Google. The new device will be sold in Africa.
$30 smart phone? Yes, sir!
Cheap smart phones are in high demand, so the new creation of Google and Orange is likely to be extremely popular. The low price should make it possible for young people in Africa to be connected to world wide web on the go.
Sanza Toch uses Android as the operational system and supports 4G. It offers 8 gigs of memory and a 4-inch touch screen. The battery capacity should be enough to provide for 4 hours of streaming videos.
The entry-level smart phone should reach more consumers, Orange executives hope, among those who couldn’t afford such a gadget previously.
“The most accessible” smartphone will allow people to become digitally included in the world community and acquire the skills required for education and employment in the new interconnected world.
The applications installed by default on Sanza Toch are in their light versions, to limit the amount of memory required to operate them. WhatsApp, highly popular among Russian women dating foreign men online, will be present, as well as YouTube Go and Facebook.
“The most affordable 4G Android” device globally, as dubbed by its creators, should “accelerate the pace of digital adoption across the continent”, Orange announced, while achieving “the ultra-affordable price point”.
Customers will be also offered delayed payments in several instalments via Payjoy application.
Previously, Chinese smart phones were the cheapest on the market.
Sanza Tuch will be sold exclusively in countries of the Middle East and Africa regions.
