Jobs in Ukraine are hard to find, but until recently a lot of people didn’t hesitate to resign if they were unhappy. In fact, 44% of Ukrainians change jobs every 2-4 years, a recent poll discovered.
Why do Ukrainians resign from jobs?
Most typically people in Ukraine decide to leave because the pay isn’t good enough. However, if they are offered a rise, they are happy to stay, Finance.ua reported.
44% of Ukrainian employees move from one job to another every 2-4 years, while 1 in 5 people find a new job once a year or even more often.
Top-5 reasons to resign
Among the reasons that motivate workers to leave, are the following (respondents could name more than 1 reason):
- Low wages: 50%.
- No career growth: 45%.
- A better offer from another company: 39%.
- The work isn’t interesting: 33%.
- The atmosphere in the company is uncomfortable: 32%.
The least troubling things for Ukrainians are high workload (8%) and personal issues (4%)
What would make the workers who were to thinking about leaving to change their minds and stay?
The respondents were also asked what would make them change their mind about resignation.
- 57% of respondents said they would stay if they got a pay rise.
- 44% or users could be happy to stay if there was a chance to grow and develop, new projects.
- 35% of people said they may not resign if they got a promotion.
- 31% of participants would like salaries to be reviewed regularly.
- 28% of people would keep working for the same company if there were some bonuses offered, such as compensation of their expenses on studying, courses or trainings.
The least effective ways to keep employees from resignation were transfers to work, corporate parties and activities, and the ability to take leave after completion of a project. These options only scored 3-4% each.
There is no replacement to financial rewards for Ukrainians, it seems. Other things don’t make them motivated enough to keep working at the same place.
In the current economic situation, however, people are likely to hold onto any job, as long as it still exists. They used to want more money, now it’s about survival and simply having a job that pays.
