Russians revealed which things they see as essential when traveling except tickets, passports, money, and mobile phones. The answers may surprise you.

“I could never travel without…”

When you are going overseas for business or pleasure, what is the most essential item you could never survive without? Is it your laptop to work while away, the camera to take photos of the most exciting places, or a good book to relax and dive in? Or is it something else?

What do Russians consider indispensable in trips?

In a recent poll conducted by tutu.ru 1,346 people were asked which things, except tickets, mobile phones, documents and money, they would never be able to travel without.

• 29% of respondents said that their medicines (tablets, pills, etc.) were the most necessary trip essentials.
• 18% of the survey participants wouldn’t be able to travel without their photo cameras.
• 15% of Russians would choose to take their laptops whereas
• 13% could not do without a book or a magazine.
• 7% of respondents would give priority to the selection of their favourite music and TV series when they are on a trip.
• 5% of all the respondents (we can only guess they were Russian women) would surely put some favourite makeup products into their travel bags.
• 3% of them would pack a hair dryer, a guidebook or their sleep masks and earplugs.
• 2% of Russians would take their own travel pillows or a water boiler on the road (yes, to make boiled water!).

One thing that Russian women and men forgot to mention was the spirit of adventure. This is probably the most important thing to take with you when going on a tour!
