Rent-a-dog industry is starting to become popular in Ukraine. Owners are placing ads offering their pets for hire, so that people are able to go for a walk during quarantine.

Ukraine is in quarantine since 12 March and the restrictions just get tougher. People are required to stay at home, unless they are essential workers; they are not allowed out. But dog owners are permitted to walk their pets.
Entrepreneurial Ukrainians picked on the trend and started to offer dogs for hire.
“We used to pay to walk our dog and now we can charge someone to do that,” owners muse.
Prices wary, KP.ua reported. Some people ask 1 hryvnia per minute while others wish to charge 100 hryvnia per hour (USD 3.70), which is the going price.
Others just charge a symbolical fee, so that they can buy food for the dog. People in Ukraine are also doing it tough with many locals more afraid of running out of money than contracting the decease.
The ads highlight a pet’s ability to not only walk but also go for a run and its friendliness and obedience. Photos are also included.
Some pet owners said they had been approached by strangers in the street asking to get it for hire, this gave them the idea to place an ad online.
Ukrainians are fined if they leave home without a proper reason. The allowable reasons are to buy essential supplies such as food and medicine or attend a doctor’s appointment. However, people are not allowed to wander further than the closest store to purchase food.
Other Ukrainians suggest a simpler trick: Walk a dog leash. If you run into a patrol, explain that you’ve been walking a pet but it ran away.
Holiday homes in the country and dachas also became more expensive to rent, KP reported. People are trying to get out of the cities and into less populated areas where quarantine requirements aren’t that strictly enforced.
