According to a recent poll, on average Ukrainian owners use automobiles for 4 years. In total, there are about 7 million cars in the country.
Poll: How often do you change cars?
The largest group of Ukrainians (27%) change cars every 3 years, according to the recent poll by AUTO.RIA. 21% of users drive cars for up to 5 years. Surprisingly, there are a lot of people who feel the urge to get something new within 1 year (14%).
3,000 visitors of the online portal answered the survey about the length of time they drive the same car.
The results were surprising for the researchers who expected a different picture, hearing a lot of complaints about the high prices.
According to the poll, this is how often people swap vehicles in Ukraine:
- 1 year or less: 14%
- Under 3: 27%
- Under 5: 21%
- Under 7: 11%
- Under 10: 13%
- Under 13: 3%
- Over 15 years: 6%
On average, locals swap to a new model every 4 years. It is about the same frequency that manufacturers of motor vehicles utilize to bring out a new model.
As we reported recently, the average age of a car on Ukrainian roads reached 16 years. Some experts believe it’s even higher than this number, if take in consideration the actual automobiles in the country, since not all of them are registered. Many locals keep driving automobiles with European number plates without re-registering them.
