No matter where you live, you want to feel happy. It’s quite easy if you stay active. All you need is to organize your leisure time in a proper way. Here are some examples how to feel great when it’s -15°C (5°F) outdoors.
Ski resorts became extremely popular in Russia. I think 90% of their clients are young generation of Russians aged 15-35.
Thanks to Russia’s geographical position, the country has lots of highland areas turned into resorts nowadays.
It costs 950 rubles ($15) for 4 hours to enjoy mountain boarding and skiing in the complex called Eurasia. The price for a standard room in the nearby hotel is 800 rubles ($13) per night.
There are many skating rinks in the city where I live. They are very cheap. One can rent ice skates for 100-150 rubles ($1.6-2.5) per hour. If a person has his own skates, he pays only 100 rubles ($1.6) to enter.
Russian girls love to make selfies and share them with friends on social networks.
You can find such ice hills in all parks and recreation areas. They are free of charge. Crowds of kids laugh and have fun there under a watchful eye of parents.
Almost every kid in Russia has his own snow saucer that he takes to the hills.
Parents take their children to experience the joy of dog sledding. The price to ride around an 800-meter circle (2,624 ft) starts from 700 rubles ($11) for adults and 400 rubles ($6,5) for kids. The next circles are half price.

Such complexes have dog kennels where you can get closer to dogs. Siberian huskies and Samoyeds love kids.
This is how Santa’s (Ded Moroz in Russian) residencies look like. They offer lots of entertainment for families. Children come here to spend New Year events and play games. The temporary “Ded Moroz” cities are removed after holidays.
Of course, such places provide well-equipped fun zones.
Rolling in the snow is absolutely fantastic and requires no money, which is a bonus!

Oh, I absolutely love winter, and as for me, the most popular winter fun in Russia is sliding down snowy hills. I think each Russian family owns a mini sledge and every winter season have fun with their children riding down snowy hills. It’s really fantastic.
When you live in Siberia, winter sometimes seems not so beautiful . Sometimes it is really cold, and people don’t want to go outside. Nevertheless, when there are warm clear days, snowflakes sparkle in the trees, everything becames a fairy tale, especially in the New year.
Winter was the best time in my childhood, probably I spent more time outside than at home. We were building snow fortresses and played snowballs all day long. At the time we had no snowboards so we were using basic things to ride from the hills!
I remember visiting the green mountain (Mountain Zelenaya} Siberia in November 2009. Flying from Heathrow UK to Moscow then onto Sheregesh for 1 nights stay, Then jumping the Trans-Siberian Railway for 13hrs and finally a taxi To the hotel. Winter is a cool time). In winter there are some holidays like New Years Day and others. And sure, many people have fun in winter too. There are a lot of activities like skiing, dog sledding, even just playing with snowballs! Last one is really enjoyable and it’s the best to play when it’s snowing!
