Apartments in Kiev, Ukraine, cost on average USD 10 per square meter per month to rent. However, depending on the location, the cost of rentals may vary from $6 to $18 per square meter. It brings prices to $300-1,400 monthly per apartment.
Cost of apartment rentals in Kiev, Ukraine
In February 2021 the median cost of rentals in Kiev was around USD 10 per square meter per month. It is a drop of around $1 per square meter as compared to January 2021.
The drop in price of rentals was accompanied by a lower demand for 2 and 3-room apartments, Finance.ua reported.

- 1-room units: $10/m2
- 2-room units: $9/m2
- 3-room units: $12/m2
Cheapest and most expensive areas to rent
- Traditionally the central area (Pechersky) is the most expensive: median rental price there is $1,367 per month ($18/m2).
- Shevchenkovsky is the second most expensive area: $605 per apartment ($11/m2).
- Monthly rentals in Goloseevsky area are sitting at around $539 ($10/m2).
- The lowest rental prices are in Desnyansky area: $293 per unit ($6/m2).
1-room apartments are the most expensive in Pechersky, where the median price sits at the level of $600 per month.
In Solomensky, Shevchenkovsky, and Goloseevsky one could get a 1-room unit priced at $360-430.
In the cheapest and most remote Desnyansky district 1-room unit can be hired for $258 per month.
Demand and supply
In February 2021, 49% of all units offered for rent were 1-roomers. 2-room units comprised 34% of all offers. 3-room units achieved 14% share in the rental market.
Only 3% of all offerings featured units with more than 3 rooms.
Considering the demand, 40% of seekers wished to rent a 1-room unit. 31% of renters were after a 2-room accommodation, while 23% of seekers wanted a unit with 3 rooms. 6% of renters wished a home with over 3 rooms.
According to Work.ua, the average monthly wage offered in Kiev is around 16,000 hryvnia (USD 574).
