In the second quarter of 2020 wages of teachers in Russia were on average only USD 424 per month (31,000 rubles) or just 100 dollars a week ($20 per day).
Teachers in Russia earn USD 20 per day
Wages of illegal foreign workers in the USA exceed salaries of Russian teachers by far. Educators of Russia earn on average 31,000 rubles per month, which is about USD 424, according to report by Lenta.ru.
At the same time, wages of educators in small regional towns are even smaller. In Volgograd region educators were getting only 20,600 rubles a month ($282).

Life in St. Petersburg and Moscow is expensive, so even though the wages of teachers are higher in these cities, it’s still not much if you have to pay $10 per pack of blueberries.

Educators working at schools are paid from the government’s budget and their wages are one of the lowest in the country.
If the Russian woman you are dating is a school teacher, use these number as a guidance. Professors and lecturers at universities earn a little bit more, but not by much.
There were 15,5 million pupils and 1.2 million teachers in Russia in 2018, according to Snta.ru (in 2015 there were 1.54 million of them). Apparently, educators are in high demand, but because of the inadequate remuneration specialists leave the field and there are not enough new specialists trained by universities to replace the ones who retire.
Specialists teaching foreign languages and maths are needed the most in Russian schools and there are not enough of them. But it could be that because of low salaries that specialists in these subjects are able to find another vocation rather than teaching kids at schools.
