The average monthly wage in Kyiv (Kiev) in March 2020 reached 18 thousand hryvnia (USD 673), Finance.ua reported based on information by the Department of Statistics.
Highest and lowest wages in Kyiv, Ukraine
The highest wages are in science, finances, insurance and technology.
As compared to February 2020, average wages in March were up by 9.4%. Compared to March 2019 the growth was 11%.
Hourly wage on average was 128 hryvnia (US $4.79). It’s 13.1% higher than in February this year.
Types of economic activity that are paid the best:
- professional, scientific research, and technology
- finance and insurance
- pharmaceutical
- information and telecommunication
In these industries salaries are 1.5-1.8 times higher than average.
Lowest wages are paid in the following industries:
- manufacturing of clothes and shoes, leather goods
- hospitality
- production of electrical equipment
- manufacturing of furniture
- car repairs
- construction
- metallurgy
- motor vehicle manufacturing
- real estate sales
- libraries, museums, archives
- education
- healthcare
- social work
It also should be noted that wages of Ukrainians during April dropped by about 9%, according to reports.
