A recent survey asked Russians about their talents, and 43% of locals believe they have one.
So many talents
In fact, 86% of respondents to WCIOM survey believe that every person is talented in something, whether their talents are obvious or hidden.
However, only 43% of participants consider themselves talented: 9% feel they definitely have a talent, while 34% think they probably do.
50% of 1 in 2 participants don’t think they are talented.
- 40% of those who consider themselves talented, apply it in their profession.
- For 20% their talents are somewhat linked to their professional activity, while 36% of users have a talent that is not connected in any way with their jobs.
- 73% of respondents think that some special conditions are required for a person to develop their talents.
- 53% of participants support the view that a talented person is talented in everything. while 59% of users think that words “talent” and “professionalism” are synonymous.
- 80% of respondents support the view that a talent can only open itself in one’s work.
- 52% of respondents feel there are only a few talented people around them, while 45% think there are many such people among their friends, families, and colleagues.
When asked about certain characteristics that typically describe how talented people behave, 33% of respondents said there are many people who don’t notice time as they are working, forgetting to eat or sleep.
35% of users know a lot of people who enjoy doing their work on weekends and public holidays, in their spare time.
33% of users agreed that they know many people who are doing what they love without any external nudging or responsibilities.
22% of respondents stated they know many people who are doing what they love without being paid for it.
