In any country of the world, including war zones, most people don’t want to leave their native land. They even stay in bad conditions but hesitant to leave. So, it would be fair to say that most Ukrainians don’t want to leave their country.
However, there are some people that do wish to leave. Let’s discuss their reasons.
Why do some Ukrainians wish to leave?
Obviously, there could be many various reasons why a person wants to move to another country.
- The reasons why people wish to stay is to be with their families and friends, but the same is applicable to those who leave: They do it to join their families. For instance, some Ukrainian women meet a foreign man, fall in love, and move to his country.
- Ukraine has some of the lowest wages on the European continent. Many locals go to Europe to work for some time, so that they can come back home and buy a house or an apartment. Before pandemics, it was very popular.
- Some Ukrainians immigrate in search of a better life, to never come back. In a similar way some time ago people from Ireland and other European countries moved to America to make it their home, hoping for a better life.
In total, Ukraine has modern conveniences and systems, while maintaining very low prices for food and other necessities (transport, education, etc.). The prices in Ukraine are so cheap that it became a destination for students from Africa and Asia to get degrees, as the cost of a degree is lower than in their home countries.
There are even some foreigners who move to Ukraine to start a business, especially in farming and agriculture, as opportunities are abound and the cost of entry is more than affordable.
All in all, Ukraine is a popular destination for expats, just like many other destinations with cheaper costs of life and beneficial tax system.
