An online travel booking website Tutu.ru asked its users where do they think it would be safe to vacation in the summer of 2020. There is one place most users consider safe to spend holidays, apparently.
2020 summer vacations Russians will spend at their countryside homes
Dacha, a countryside home with a small garden, has always been the most popular budget-friendly option for a vacation among Russians. It’s no wonder that during this time dacha scored the largest share of votes in the poll.
- 53% of users think that dacha would be a safe option for a summer vacation this year.
- 13% of people would take a trip to non-seaside destination such as Lake Baikal or Karelia.
- 9% of users are happy to fly to some exotic islands, presumably foreign, as Russia has no tropical islands of its own.
- The same share of users (9%) would take a trip to Russian beaches on the Black Sea in Sochi and Crimea.
- 8% of travellers believe a trip to Europe is safe.
- 6% of respondents consider a vacation at a health resort in Russia.
- Only 2% would go to other countries of the ex-USSR.
All in all, Russians feel more positive about travelling for a vacation this year as compared to Ukrainians. Nearly half of the respondents are happy to travel either within Russia (28%) or even overseas (19%).
