The need to stay inside small apartments when people had to spend time with their partners could potentially create unhappy family dynamics, but a recent poll showed that Ukrainians did quite well during quarantine.
How quarantine affected Ukrainian families
Tough times show what people are made of, and Ukrainians managed to withstand recent troubles successfully, a recent poll by Segodnya.ua demonstrated.
Most Ukrainian families didn’t experience any worsening in their relationships (53%). Some people complained about having more arguments (15%), but just the same share of respondents said their relationships improved. If we were to look at the situation in terms of averages, the state of relations remained relatively stable.
It’s also worth noting that only 16% of participants said they didn’t have a partner. So, if we look at the people who actually had partners, it’s about 64% of respondents (among those who had partners) who have no complains about spending a lot of time together with the spouse.
The fact that tough times improved a lot of relationships is also positive. Normally families struggle to arrange enough time together; here they had a great opportunity to communicate and share.
