International couples enjoy communication during the lockdowns but the question on everybody’s lips is: When will international planes start flying again?
Experts predict the timeline when international travel will open in Europe
Russian experts believe that international travel is unlikely to open until the middle of summer 2020, Ren.tv reported, quoting Dmitry Abyzalov’s interview to Prime agency.
He believes that the countries that rely on summer tourist season such as Italy, Greece, and Spain will be the first to open airports to international flights.
All in all, the stable regime of air travel can be only expected by the end of August, Abyzalov believes.
Countries are likely to open their borders depending on how successful they are in stopping the infection. Certain countries will be able to open us sooner, while others will take their time.
Russia recently passed a law allowing its residents who hold a citizenship or residence permit in other countries to leave, Moscow Times reported on 30 April 2020.
There is a limited number of flights that continue flying, which are aimed at delivering citizens to their home countries, since many people work abroad. Both foreign nationals and Russian citizens holding foreign passports or residence permits are allowed to fly out of Russia now.
The lockdown in Moscow is expected to end after 11 May.
Earlier we reported that Ukrainian officials believe that there wouldn’t be any problems for locals using visa-free travel, once the borders are open.
