Ukrainians are travelling less in the midst of pandemics, but only by 17% if we consider internal tourism.
Kiev and Odessa are most popular destinations for internal tourism in Ukraine
This year the world’s tourism industry took a giant hit, although some local operators are busy with local travellers. Ukrainian tourists seem to be travelling less, according to a review of the local mobile operator Kyivstar.
In spring and summer of 2020, 7.3 million of Ukrainians took trips within the country, which is 17% less than during the previous year.
In total, 11.5 million trips was made by users, on average every second person travelled twice.
- People from Zaporizhiya, Kyiv, and Lviv travelled most often.
- The most popular destinations for internal tourism are Kiev (450,000 visitors), Odessa (400 thousand guests) and Belgorod-Dnestrovsky (370 thousand).
Among foreign destinations, 58 countries of the world allow access to Ukrainian citizens, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finance.ua reported. Bahrain, Pakistan, Central African Republic, and Peru among the last countries that allowed access to visitors from Ukraine.
Brazil, Dominican Republic, Armenia, Kazakhstan are also open to Ukrainians.
Montenegro, Turkey, Belarus, UK, USA, Emirates, Slovenia, Mexico are also on the list. Maldives, Ireland, Bulgaria, Ecuador and Puerto-Rico are also accessible.
