Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson says sex in space is possible but it would include a lot of belts. 57-year-old scientist is based in New York, and has been the Director of the Planetarium at the Center for Earth and Space since 1996.
In his recent interviews he discussed the topic of sex in space and how it will be different, compared to the physical action on Earth.
Definitely, there is no gravity in space, which means, the two bodies would float. However, the space station is a completely different matter: The internals of a station can provide some above-zero gravity to its inhabitants.
What Would Sex in Space Be Like?
Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson says sex in space in entirely possible.
Intimacy without weight would have to involve some strapping, concludes Tyson, so as not to bounce off each other. In fact, he says, there should be plenty of belts, “to keep things strapped down”.
Being weightless means that the usual flow of blood through the body is modified.
The arousal may become more difficult due to the fact that the flow would mostly involve chest and head area, rather than go to the genitals.
However, it would not be totally impossible.

The popular astrophysicist answers questions of his fans, discussing the peculiarities of doing the love tango in space. It may not be totally zero gravity, he says.
“If you have a rotating space station, by way of the centrifugal force of the rotating wheel, you can create any fraction of gravity you want.”
“You could be in space, and it would be no different to what you would be doing here on Earth.”

Sex in bed can be tricky sometimes, but in space! Wow, that must require a lot of physical work! Well, being strapped is not much of a novelty, some people got pretty used to it in normal conditions, I think they will get used to it in space, too.
