The majority of Ukrainians don’t believe in diet and low calorie products that are advertised as useful for weight loss and healthy living.

Ukrainians reject diet food

Special food that is designed to help people lose weight and eat healthily is filling shelves in our kitchens and supermarkets. Many westerners switch to low fat dairy products and munch on muesli or protein bars.

But Ukrainians aren’t into this trend. Possibly, not yet?

A recent poll by Segodnya.ua asked visitors to the Internet portal whether they are buying special products that are marked as low fat or healthy.

• The majority of respondents (52%) answered that they don’t believe that these foods are indeed low in calories and good for a healthy diet.
• Over 42% said they don’t buy such foods because of the simple reason that they cannot afford them.
• Only 5% of survey participants said they do buy fitness bars, low fat dairy products and muesli.

Losing weight is simpler with using just regular food such as vegetables, grains, fish and chicken, but isn’t it easier just to grab a bar promising to help you slim down?

Not for men and women from Ukraine, apparently. They still live in the world where packaged food are luxuries and regular meats and vegetables are more accessible.

Another advantage of the country where the average wage is still under USD 500 per month.
