Almost half of Russian employers refuse applicants if the resume contains spelling errors, a recent survey revealed.
Spelling errors and other sins that will get your job application denied in Russia
47% of employers in Russia refuse job applicants if they see spelling or grammar errors in resume, TASS reported.
However, the most typical reason to reject an application is seeing that the person doesn’t meet the requirements as per job description.
- 40% of company representatives reject over 50% of application on the first tour of their search. One third of recruiters won’t consider every second applicant because of the poor first impression.
- 45% of recruiters see frequent change of jobs as a problem, while 11% of them see long breaks between jobs as the reason to reject an applicant.
- 16% of employers can reject an applicant if there is too much unnecessary information in the resume.
- 7% of recruiters won’t consider a resume without a photo. You may find this surprising, but in Russia people send resumes with photos, and lack of a picture can cause refusal.
- 7% of respondents can reject a candidate if they dislike how the resume is presented (its looks).
What are Russian employers looking for?
- 75% of recruiters want to see a good description of the previous experience and skills.
- 33% of employers want to see only facts and numbers in the job application.
- 25% of recruiting specialists from companies wish to see a portfolio of the candidate.
- 23% of recruiters wish to find a description of strength the candidate can offer to the company in the cover letter.
- 11% of employers want to see links to personal pages of the candidate in social networks.
The survey was conducted by the online recruitment portal Rabota.ru in October 2020. Over 1,000 of company managers and HR-directors provided their input.
Most Russian women seeking partners on Elenasmodels.com are working full-time and many are high-level specialists in their fields. However, they still feel it’s more important for them to find a partner for life than to have a great career.
