Because of discussions in the media, girls went vocal with their view that they are going to date whomever they want. The topic became controversial and bloggers jumped on to ride the popularity wave.

Some guys started organizing online groups to name and shame girls seen with foreigners. One writer, formerly unknown, became the household name because he labelled all women dating foreigners as “whores” and a large tabloid published his article.

This definitely turned many females off the idea to date a visiting foreigner during the World Cup. Girls were simply scared to be seen nearby for the fear of being caught on camera and chastised online.

But some guys picked up the news about Russian women wanting to date foreigners and decided all girls were up to that. Not at all!

If you ran into a Russian woman who agreed to date you somewhere in Russia, and then you managed to start a relationship and it got serious, then you probably have about 50% chance that she would agree to marry you and move out of the country.

There are a lot of ‘ifs’ in that scenario, of course:
