4 in 5 Ukrainians who plan to seek jobs in Europe for the first time hope to earn wages over USD 1,000 per month. In Ukraine, average wages are twice as low.
How much money Ukrainians hope to earn in Europe?
According to a recent poll, 12% of Ukrainians plan to leave the country for good, a recent poll discovered. Among the people who only plan to find a temporary job in Europe to earn some money and then return home 4 in 5 people hope to earn over USD 1000 a month.
- 27% of respondents would be happy to earn monthly wages from $1,000 to $1,200.
- 19% of survey participants hope to earn $1,200 to $1,500.
- 1 in 5 would agree on wages under $1,000 a month.
Even Ukrainians pensioners aged 65+ are looking at options of working abroad.
- 1 in 3 pensioners would like to work abroad for a few months.
- 36% of local retirees who seek jobs abroad would love to leave Ukraine and live somewhere else.
When looking for a country to find employment, local job seekers value first of all high wages and good working conditions, as well as a well-developed economy.
The younger are the migrant workers, the more they worry about potential risks. 60% of people aged 25-34 are worried about a risk that the employer won’t pay the wages.
36% of migrant workers from large Ukrainian cities are worried about comfortable living conditions, while among residents of smaller villages only 21% of participants were concerned about this factor.
