Property prices in Ukraine went up by nearly 10% since the same period of the last year.
Ukrainian real estate prices are up
Compared to the same period of 2019 (the third quarter of the year), prices for apartments in Ukraine went up by 9.5%, Finance.ua reported, according to the official statistics.
Apartments are still the most popular type of homes that Ukrainians buy.
Compared to the end of 2019, prices in the third quarter of 2020 were up by 6.5%.
New apartments became 7.7% more expensive, while lived in real estate gained 10.6% in value on average.
- 1-room apartments are the most popular on the market, as they are affordable. Prices on 1-room units gone up by whopping 11.9% in the secondary market, and by 9.3% for new apartments.
- 2-room apartments gained 11.2% on the secondary market and 5.9% in the newly erected buildings.
- 3-room apartments gained 8.1% on the secondary market and 8.5% on the primary market.
Currently the cost of 1 square meter in newly built apartment buildings in Kiev sits around 25,600 hryvnia (USD 903). In Odessa the costs are the same.
In Lviv the price of 1 square meter of new units on average is about 17,800 hrvynia (USD 628).
Secondary market prices show larger differences by city (per square meter).
