According to a recent survey, young Russian women aged 14-29 love spending time with their families, listening to music, and watching movies. They also love shopping, exercising, and reading books.

Top activities that young Russians love doing

All in all, young Russians love doing the same things, whether males or females, but some activities have more devotees among a certain gender.

The survey by Levada looked into how young Russians spend their spare time. The research centre engaged people from 14 to 29 years old from all regions of Russia.

1. Listening to music was the activity that all young people enjoy the most, regardless of the gender. 86% of guys and girls listen to music often and 99% said they do it at least from time to time.
2. Spending time with family was the second most favourite activity: 98% of respondents do it. 83% of girls and 74% if guys do it often. It should be noted that people in Russia tend to marry early, so they may be talking about spending time with their spouses and kids, as well as parents.
3. Third most popular activity is watching movies, with 97% of respondents engaging it this pastime. 70% of girls and 67% of guys do it often.
4. Walking with friends is something that 96% of Russians under 30 do; 69% of males and 60% of females do it often.
5. Shopping scored #5 in the rating with 90% overall score. However, it’s not something people do frequently. 41% of females vs. only 24% males frequent shopping malls.
6. Exercising is also popular among young Russians: 86% of respondents are engaged in some form of exercise. 54% of males ad 38% of females reported doing it frequently.
7. Reading books is the next activity on the list (85%). 37% of ladies do it regularly vs. 21% of males.
8. Doing nothing or relaxing is also on the list (82%). Both guys and girls enjoy it nearly equally (36% of males vs. 34% of females engage in relaxation regularly).
9. Creative pursuits such as writing or drawing have their devotees mostly among ladies: 30% of girls are regularly creative vs. 19% of guys. In total, 63% of people have a creative streak.
10. Spending time in bars, clubs, or cafes is also a popular pastime (60% of respondents say they do it at least sometimes). But only 12% of males and 8% of females report doing it regularly.

Video games are definitely more popular among guys: 39% of them are regulars (vs. 17% of females).
