According to experts, people are making easily avoidable errors when using dating sites. By being more thoughtful, people could get much better results.
Dating sites errors that are easily avoidable
Most dating sites want to make the process of registration as simple and quick as possible, but users could benefit from putting a bit of effort.
Quick registrations often result in boring and superficial profiles.
1. Ditch the glasses
Whether optical or tinted, get rid of the glasses and score more likes. Glasses hide your eyes that are the windows to the soul, if we believe the common wisdom. They also hide a large part of your face.
2. Portraits for main picture
The same logic dictates the need to use a portrait-style photo for your main profiles picture. Let people see what you look like. Photos, where your face is hard to see, don’t help you to score a good match.
3. Get factual
The more precise you are in describing what kind of person you are (facts, not labels), the easier it is for you to find the right person who seeks what you have to offer.
4. Be interesting
Tell a short story that gets laughs or mention a fact that people admire about you. Most bios on the dating sites are extremely boring and superficial. Something that is different and cool will definitely attract more attention.
5. Be positive
Instead of writing what you don’t want in a partner or what turns you off, concentrate on what do you want. People are drawn to positive individuals.
6. Don’t limit yourself by a type
You’ve been probably dating the same person over and over… The same personality type. Maybe this is what it didn’t work out. Try something different! Dating sites allow you to communicate with a variety of people, maybe this will work better with someone who isn’t your usual type.
Good luck in your dating!
