Hotels provide a lot of little conveniences, which some people feel entitled to pack in suitcases when they leave. Tutu.ru asked users what do they take with them and here is the list of top-5 things that Russians pinch from places where they stay while travelling.
What do Russians pinch from hotels?
The majority of respondents stated that they don’t take anything (57%), which 1 in 10 admitted to appropriating anything they can.
Apart from these survey takers, 1 in 4 people loves small-sized hygiene products such as shampoo, shower gels and caps, toothbrushes, mini-soaps. Let’s admit it, these little things are useful, whether in your toiletry bag or to take home for visitors who accidentally stay overnight without a toothbrush. 23% of Russian respondents feel the same way and take home toiletries from hotels.
Packing other utilities for later isn’t as popular.
For instance, coffee, tea, and sugar bags are snatched by 2% of survey participants, while just as many of them find sewing kits useful around the traveller’s suitcase.
1% of travellers from Russia snatch shoe care kits. Another 1% admitted to appropriating a hotel towel. Towels aren’t disposables, as we all know, so this is already a weightier sin.
Bath robes and ash trays, apparently, aren’t something Russian travellers feel entitled to filch, these items didn’t score on the list.
It would be fascinating to see if there is a difference in lists of things that Russian women and men feel entitled to keep for personal use. Do you reckon one particular gender is more scrupulous than the other?
