Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, was named as 2019 best city for doing business among developing countries, while London (UK) topped the worldwide rating, Finance.ua reported.
Tallinn is a great place for entrepreneurs
The capital of the former USSR republic is named the best city for doing business in Europe among developing countries. The report was compiled by Movinga, a logistics company.
Among criteria considered was the simplicity of starting a business in IT or communication, export or import, or a restaurant.
Planet-wide, Tallinn is #29 in the rating.
In total, 75 cities known for their entrepreneurial spirit and opportunities for business and growth were reviewed by the company’s analytics.
How well did other former socialist republics fare?
- Prague (Czech Republic) scored #47 in the world rating.
- Budapest (Hungary): 53
- Warsaw (Poland): 56
- Bratislava (Slovakia): 60
- Ljubljana (Slovenia): 63
- Muharest (Romania): 69
- Zagreb (Croatia): 74
- Tbilisi (Georgia): 75
Although Tbilisi managed to get only the last position in the total rating, the former USSR republic is #2 for the easiness of registering a company.
Leaders of the rating
- London, the capital of the Great Britain, scored the coveted #1 position on the list.
- Barcelona (Spain) and New York (USA) are only slightly behind.
