2020 brought unusual challenges in the way companies operate. Many employees had to start working remotely from home instead of traveling to the office daily. According to a recent survey, most Ukrainians enjoy working from home.

Working remotely in Ukraine

Workers from the IT industry, finances, and travel had been asked about moving to work from home instead of an office, Finance.ua reported.

For the majority of the respondents, their presence in the office isn’t required by the type of job they do. Only 12.9% of participants have no other option but to work offline.

The rest of participants have already worked from home instead of the office and 57% of them liked it.

But working from home has its drawbacks and people miss the atmosphere (43.5%), the ability to talk to colleagues and feel like part of a community (41.6%). They also enjoy the comfort that offices provide as well as the absence of distractions (12.9%).

Only 1 in 5 respondents said they were able to separate work and life successfully in the remote work regime. 1 in 4 people said that work and home affairs got mixed up. 58% of respondents feel that they became less at home.

40% of respondents stated they enjoy working at an office because the business centre has lots of facilities such as gyms, beauty salons and other services that are easily accessible.

According to another survey, over a third of Ukrainians enjoyed working remotely during pandemics and would love to continue doing that in the future.

Even lawmakers in Ukraine are thinking about working remotely: The first version of a new draft law that regulates remote jobs had been voted in by the Ukrainian Rada in December 2020.

Russia also wants remote jobs to be regulated better and looking at a new legislation, Lenta.ru reported.
