Names affect the person’s future
Some parents pick extremely unusual names for their kids, but these children rarely decide to change them when grow up, according to Karina Minchuk from the department of registrations in one of Kiev (Kyiv) district offices.
Many people in Ukraine believe that their name somehow defines their Destiny. When people change their names, their personality changes as well, Minchuk reckons.
Most often people change regular names to exotic ones. Rarely people ask to change a rare name to something ordinary.
In Ukraine, people are able to change their name from the age of 16 without parental permission.
Psychologist Anna Chekhman believes that an unusual, bright name is able to make a person feel more confident, be a better student in school and achieve greater things in life.
