According to the official statistics, there are 27.5 million Internet subscribers in Ukraine in 2019, from which 24.5 million are individuals.
58% of Ukrainians own an Internet subscription
The total number of users is obviously higher, because many people use Internet at home, where only one person is officially a subscriber. It is likely that the majority of private subscribers are connected to the Internet through their mobile phone provider.
The larger is the residential population of the city, the more contracts it recorded.
- The city of Kyiv (Kiev) has the highest number of subscribers: over 1.6 million.
- The region of Odesa (Odessa) is the next on the list with over 1 million subscriptions in the city.
- Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk) region achieved 241 thousand subscriptions.
- In Lviv, 201 thousand private individuals own subscriptions.
- 160 thousand individuals are connected to the online world in Donetsk
Nearly 3 million subscriptions belong to companies (2,992,000). It’s about 11% of all connections in the country.
It would be fair to say that in large cities nearly 100% of people under the age of 50 use Internet, whether owning their contract, accessing it at work or at the parents’ home.
Young people are managing their social life through their phones.
In dating internationally, WhatsApp is one of the most popular ways for couples to communicate, because of excellent capabilities to access it anywhere on the phone.
The majority of Ukrainian women who date men online use apps daily to connect with potential matches. This is why you know that pseudo-dating pay-per-letter sites are a total scam, since it requires much more hassle to connect through them as compared to popular apps. Surprisingly, even today at the start of 2020, some men keep paying PPL sites for fake letters with love confessions!
What do you think can be done to stop it? Or do these guys deserve to be scammed, for being so ignorant to the realities of online connectivity in Ukraine?
