Ukrainian IT industry managed to increase sales by 31% in the first half of 2019, Finance.ua reported.
Ukrainian IT industry is expanding quickly
In the first half of 2019 the export of computer services reached USD 1.64 billion, the IT Association of Ukraine informed. It’s 31.4% more than in the same period of 2018.
The industry of IT services in the country is working predominantly for foreign customers: 80% of services are exported. The major clients are located in the USA and the European Union.
- The amount of taxes paid by IT companies risen by 28.9%.
- The number of registered self-employed persons in the IT sphere increased by 22%, reaching 158,000 in total.
Two largest IT companies in Ukraine — EPAM and SoftServe — employ over 7,000 specialists.
63,000 IT specialists work in top-50 Ukrainian companies of this sector.
Some experts dubbed Ukraine the next India for IT outsourcing.
Wages in the IT sector are some of the highest in the country.
