If you love smart women, here is a tip for you from scientists. They discovered that women’s cognitive abilities improve in hot temperatures. So, if you would like to give a lady the chance to show off her intelligence, take her some place warm. For instance, to a vacation at a tropical resort!

Women get smarter at hotter temperatures

Surprising data was gathered by Tom Chang paired with Agne Kajackaite, associates of the USC Marshall School of Business, Los Angeles, USA.

Apparently, women’s cognitive abilities improve at warmer temperatures, Science Daily reported.
Many studies up to now have exposed that females are likely to choose higher room temperatures than males.

Nevertheless, no investigation observing temperatures’ influence on mental accomplishment has taken gender distinctions into consideration to date.

To fill this gap, 24 teams of 23-25 undergraduates (542 respondents altogether) took verbal, logic and math exams. The exam was carried out in a lecture hall air-conditioned or heated to a variety of warmth starting from16.19 C/61.14 F increased to 32.57 C/90.63 F within the time limit September-December 2017.

Participants received financial rewards based upon the number of questions resolved accurately.

41% of the participants were female.

The hotter the smarter

And when we say “the hotter” we mean room temperatures, not the hotness of the lady herself.

The researchers determined that female learners, in general, did better on math and verbal tasks when the temperature got warmer, producing a higher share of accurate answers in addition to more responses provided in total.

On the contrary, male undergraduates mostly performed better on these quizzes at lower temperatures.

When the heat was turned up, guys gave fewer replies, along with dropping the accuracy of the answers.

That’s an astounding fact!

Another thing to notice, the difference in improvement of the accuracy of answers and the number of quizzes solved was higher for ladies than for guys.

Performance on the logic test for both genders did not appear affected by the heat or cold.
Survey respondents were an average group of German undergraduate students.

The researchers believe that temperatures can influence more than just the level of comfort.

The research group noted that it’s likely that normal fluctuations in temperatures could have an impact on intellectual performance considerably and inversely for males and females.

Women are better at mathematical and verbal tasks when the temperature gets warmer.

Show off or let the lady shine?
