Life is better shared with a special someone, who is your true best friend, a lover, a partner in life and work, a playmate, and a trustworthy advisor. However, finding a reliable partner isn’t easy, may would attest. What tips work best in romantic relationships?

4 tips to make romantic relationships work

In my view, the best tip would be to make a conscious effort to keep romance in your relationship.

It’s easy to be romantic when you are dating but once you get used to each other, too many couples dive into a routine and forget about “us” time. It’s especially true for new parents, who become so terribly busy, they grow apart as lovers.

1. Do what you can do well

Do something special for your partner from time to time, things they love, things you can do well. My husband is an amazing cook and he cooks delicious food for me. It’s the best romantic gift and I appreciate it highly. It’s never boring.

2. Schedule holidays away often

We plan trips for just the two of us, even if for a couple of days. It is only away from home that two adults in a long-term relationship can truly relax and stop thinking of everyday chores. You can sleep late, spend more time in bed than usual, and do totally nothing. Pick a place with no Internet connection if you can! Such places still exist. For instance, charter a yacht and cruise around tropical islands.

3. Touch is vital

Touch helps to maintain physical connection, without it romantic relationships fade.

4. Choose to be happy rather than right

Fights and arguments kill romance in relationships. Even if your partner isn’t right, there is no need to start an epic fight or prove to them it was your idea. If you feel the subject is important, the same things could be said in a loving and kind way, slowly and calmly, rather than talked about in raised voices. But in essence, remember than being happy is much more enjoyable than being right! (Besides, you may be proven wrong, by the way.)
