The embassy of the USA in Ukraine explained the rules for entry to the country for Ukrainian citizens who hold valid visas. The explanation was published via Twitter, Finance.ua reported.
Ukrainians on valid visas are allowed to enter the USA
The holders of valid visas from Ukraine are permitted to enter the USA if they have spent 14 days in their home country or another location that is on the list of allowed destinations.
However, if a Ukrainian citizen travels using transit in another country where the epidemiological situation isn’t positive, they won’t be allowed to enter. For instance, a transit via Great Britain and the countries of the European Union isn’t allowed. The same with China, Iran, Brazil, and some other countries.
- Citizens of the United States and holders of Green cards can travel in any way they wish, and they will be allowed entry to U.S.
- Citizens of countries of the European Union are limited in entry due to unsatisfactory epidemiological situation there and have to apply for special permits.
The good news are that Ukrainians can again travel to the U.S. if they hold a valid visa. For instance, if a lady has a fiancée visa but she couldn’t travel due to restrictions, now it is possible.
At the same time, the U.S. announced moratorium on issuing certain types of visitor visas until 2021. However, there is a provision that allows this moratorium to be lifted at any time. There are also exceptions on issuing visas to persons whose presence on the territory of the United States of America is necessary and under circumstances deemed urgent.
Applicants can request an emergency appointment in U.S. consulates to obtain a visa, if their circumstances are urgent.
