Ukraine plans to open international flights in the near future. However, the European Union talks about opening holiday resorts only from 1 July 2020.
When will planes start flying internationally again?
KP.ua reported on timelines when the international air companies plan to start flying again.
- There are no confirmed dates when international flights will open, but companies allow to book flights already.
- Many companies offering flights to Ukraine started to accept bookings from 23 May. That’s the next day after the quarantine in Ukraine ends.
- Wizz Air offer bookings from 1 July on 7 various routes, from Kyiv, Lviv, and Kharkiv.
- Czech Airlines plans to start flying from 3 June to Kyiv (Kiev) and from 4 June to Odessa.
- Lufthansa shows open flights from 1 June 3 times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
- Swiss airlines offer flights to Zurich from 21 June on Sundays.
- Ukrainian Airlines, Ryanair’s earliest date to book a flight is 1 July.
New rules
The airlines announced new requirements to passengers. There will be compulsory temperature checks; face masks will be required to be worn for the duration of the trip both at the airports and on the planes.
Magazines will no longer be available and food would have to be ordered in advance. To remove queues to toilets, people would need to ask the flight attendants, who will then invite customers one by one, Ryanair informed.
There will be more disinfectants on planes and disinfecting wipes for passengers.
