Ukrainians described ” an ideal teacher”. Most importantly, parents want educators to respect each student and treat them equally.
What an ideal teacher looks like for Ukrainians?
The survey was conducted with the assistance of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and involved parents as well as teachers, KP.ua reported.
Respondents were asked to describe how the perfect educator would operate at the school. The competencies mentioned are part of the new professional industry standard, approved at the end of 2020.
In general, both teachers and parents see a good educator similarly. However, there are some differences as well. For instance, teachers believe that the most important thing is to inspire a student to study, while parents want educators to respect kids and treat them equally. Altogether, knowledge about the subject was one of the last competencies on the list for parents.
In general, teachers are expected to understand and respect students, be able to inspire them to fulfill their potential, and be open to communication and constantly learn themselves.

When asked who is influencing changes in the system of education, most respondents feel that teachers are the most important factor of the process, as well as bringing new standards to life.
School administration are seen as the second important factor and the ministry of education is in the third place.
