How many times did you decide to take a trip away with a girlfriend and it was totally ruined? Most people had this experience or have heard from others.

People’s habits may not seem that annoying when dating, but once pairs are together 24/7 in a confined space of a hotel room, things get on nerves pretty fast. And you cannot get away from that without hiring another room and possibly destroying any chance to continue the relationship!

Tutu.ru asked its Russian users what would ruin a vacation with a partner, and here is the list of top-10 things that get on nerves during a trip away together with a sweetheart.

The #1 thing on the list is the special other’s bad mood (24%), closely followed by the other person getting sick (22%). Having different expectations as to how to spend time, actively or passively, would have ruined things for 14% of respondents.

8% of survey takers would hate to work while on holidays, which for many of us is the reality in today’s interconnected world. It doesn’t feel much better for the person who doesn’t have to work either: 6% of people pointed to a problem of the other person being glued to their gadgets as the holiday spoiler.

Kids are a problem, too. Whether you take it with you (4% complained about it) or leave them at home, the guilt while entertaining without them may get you, too (2% mentioned that factor).

Top-10 annoying things that can ruin a perfect getaway

This can happen with anyone, and possible happened to you. The list of top-10 vacation-spoilers, as compiled from answers of Russian travellers, looks rather practical.

1. Bad mood of the partner: 24%
2. Partner’s getting sick: 22%
3. Different expectations (one person wants to do some active exploring, while the other is happy with lying by the pool): 14%
4. Addictions and overuse of alcohol, drugs, smoking too much: 12%
5. Having to work while on vacation: 8%
6. Over attachment to electronic gadgets: 6%
7. Partner’s annoying spending habits (overspending or being too stingy): 4%
8. Limiting freedom (behaviour, dressing, etc.): 4%
9. Kids that accompany us: 4%
10. Kids that we left at home and feel guilty about it: 2%
