There are 1,199 high-rises in Kiev (Kyiv), which puts the Ukrainian capital at #8 in the world rating, according to Skycraperpage.com.

While Kiev isn’t famous by extremely tall buildings, the multi-storey apartment buildings keep popping up in recent decades, which placed the capital of Ukraine in the top-10 in the world rating for cities with the most high-rises.
New York City (USA) is still #1 on the list with 6,097 high-rises, followed by Toronto, Canada (2,393) and Dubai, United Arab Emirates (1,676).
Tokyo, Japan, has 1,319 high-rise buildings, followed by Hong Kong (1,304) and Shanghai (1,234).
Chicago, USA, is at #7 with 1,233 tall constructions. Then at #8 is Kiev with 1,199 high-rises.
London, UK (1,109) and Mexico (1,026) conclude the list of top-10 cities.
- Moscow, Russia, is at # 16 in the rating with 550 high-rises.
- Kharkiv, Ukraine, is at #26 with 422 high-rises.
Bangkok, Thailand, is at #11 in the rating with 977 tall buildings.
