From the beginning of this year, 27 thousand foreigners received residency status in Poland. Most of them were from of Ukraine, Belarus, and Georgia. This information was supplied by the press service of the Office for Foreigners.
Nearly 20 thousand Ukrainians now call Poland home
Citizens of the ex-USSR republics are in majority among the new Polish residents from abroad, Finance.ua reported.

- Belarus: 3 thousand (23,000 residents in total)
- Georgia: 1.3 thousand (4,100)
- India: 0.8 thousand (9,600)
Most of the foreigners get residence permits in:
- Masovian district with the administrative centre in Warsaw: 26%
- Lower Silesian (Wroclaw): 11%
- Greater Poland (Poznan): 10%

How foreigners contribute to Polish economy
The contribution of immigrants (including citizens of Ukraine) to the country’s economy and increase in GDP growth averages 0.5% per year for the last 5 years.
This is the assessment of the economists from the Citi Handlowy Bank, Finance.ua reported.
In 2017, the Polish economy registered almost 1% growth that could be attributed to the use of foreign workers.
According to the estimates of the Polish National Bank, Ukrainian workers provided 0.3–0.9% of the GDP growth.
Polish employers would like to see a simpler process to hire foreign workers from Ukraine.
Experts from the Citi Handlowy Bank believe that the flow of immigration from Ukraine has already decreased in numbers as compared to the recent past.
Considering that Germany opened the borders for new immigrants (makes it simple for non-EU skilled employees to find a job in Germany, especially if they work in any of the occupations with shortages of skilled labour), a significant reduction in numbers of foreign workers in Poland can be expected in the following years.

Poland workers and skilled people are leavening Poland to work in the western part of the European Union, Poland receives huge amount of money from the European Union. In my country, local companies have very difficult to compete with companies from former eastern Europe, because they are dumping salaries, or working in the black sector.
And the European Union wants our nation to pay higher fees to the EU.
I understand the Britsh and the Brexit, the European Union is a disaster.
