How much for a taxi ride from the airport?
Airport Taxi Report in summer 2019 by AirMundo compared the cost of rides in top-50 busiest destinations of the European continent.
Kiev’s air harbor Borispol is on 43d place among all the cities with the trips priced at 15 Euro. By the cost per 1 km the trip to Kiev is the cheapest: only €0.46.
- The average price of a fare among all 50 destinations is 40 Euro.
- An average trip lasts 34 minutes.
The cost of fares remained the same among all destinations except Istanbul (Turkey), where it went up.
Fares for transfers in the cities of outside of Western Europe are substantially lower:

The difference in the price of a ride between the most expensive and the cheapest cities was over 10 times.

A trip by taxi from the Moscow’s International Air Terminal Sheremetyevo costs €25 (#35), while getting to Domodedovo in the Russian capital is priced at €28 (#25).
When a taxi is more expensive than the plane
Surprisingly, at some cities the cost of the taxi trip was higher than the price of the airplane ticket by discount airlines such as WizzAir or EasyJet, since their terminals are located in expensive-to-get airports.
Inexperienced travelers often try to save on the price of airline tickets and then they may get caught in paying expensive fares to get to the actual destination.

At Kiev Boryspil airport, go to the official taxi kiosk in the centre of the Arrivals hall and book there. These are the official city taxis. They will give you a ticket and either a taxi number or your driver will meet you. Do not accept the services of the private touts who simply approach you and offer taxi services – you will pay more, sometimes much more. Some Kiev hotels offer airport transfers. Better is to use the new mini train station right next to the big modern terminal building. It’s a fraction of the cost of a taxi, you don’t risk getting stuck in traffic nor end up with some oddball taxi driver. Goes regularly direct to Kiev Central Train Station!
