Wages in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and other countries of the former USSR in 2020
Soviet Union used to include 15 republics. 3 of them (Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia) are now member of the European Union.
But how are other former USSR republics fair?
The graphics below show how much people earn in 2020 in all other former Soviet Union republics (except Georgia and Turkmenistan). All wages are reported as monthly.
- Russia is the leader with the highest wages that stood at USD 730 in the first quarter of 2020. Russian wages had been higher for the last 12 months ($750), but this is mostly due to the fact that Russian ruble lost a lot of its value early this year.
- Belarus and Kazakhstan are sharing positions 3 and 2 in the rating, with 1 quarter earnings on the level of $510 and $515 per month respectively.
- Ukraine is at #4 with $440.
- Moldova and Azerbaijan are sharing 5-6 place in the rating ($435).
- Wages in Armenia are $395 per month (#7).
- Uzbekistan: $270 (#8).
- Kyrgyzstan: $245 (#9).
- Tajikistan: $135 (#10).
