I will try to explain the simplicity of dating Eastern European women based on real life examples and why the majority of western guys are getting it wrong.
The one thing you need to understand is that in the modern western tradition dating is an unstructured process. In FSU countries, there is a rigid structure.
Once you grasp this simple difference, everything falls into place.
I see why western men struggle to get it right, because they base their actions on the response they get. And in their view, they are not receiving the response they should be getting, so they resign from the whole process. In other words, they drop out of the communication.
Most often, the lady on the other end is left wondering, “What happened?” She wrongfully assumes that you weren’t really interested. At the same time, you think exactly the same, that she wasn’t interested!
How can it happen?
There is one enlightening discussion about ‘modesty’ on the Russian blog. What became clear, all Russian females think that modesty is an immensely valuable quality in a woman and strive to abide by the rules of modest behaviour.
At the same time, western men see such behaviour as the lack of interest, dislike, and sign of boredom.
But in fact, the woman is doing her best as to appear ‘modest’, which is the necessary prerequisite for any FSU woman wanting to be taken seriously by an admirer.
The more she likes you, the more modest she will try to appear.
You, at the same time, think that her reserved behaviour is the display of her lack of interest in you.
Russian girls dream about a man who will stop at nothing to win her heart
I explained it earlier in the post about the hunter-prey dating scheme that is popular in Russia, the ladies basically expect a man to behave like a stalker. Then they can be sure ‘he is really interested’ and not just trying to get her to bed.
Since recently ‘being pure’ (preferably virginity) is a highly valuable asset for a Russian woman and girls report that local guys increasingly expect it from a future bride.
This means immense stubbornness in starting any communication with a man, even on his initiative — leave alone showing any initiative herself. The guy needs to spell out his serious intentions before a woman will even consider him as a potential admirer she is willing to give a chance to.
If you don’t show that you have ‘honourable intentions’ (read: you are approaching because you want to marry her), she doesn’t want to know you. She doesn’t want to develop feelings and fall in love, and then find out you were only seeking some light entertainment.
The women believe that by not showing any interest they are testing the strength of a man’s intentions. If he dropped out, then he wasn’t interested strongly enough. If he were, nothing would stop him. That’s what they truly believe.

I have had similar experiences but its not that the woman don’t respond at all. My situation is that they will exchange mails a few times, then just flat out stop. On two occasions in my first month on here, I’ve had conversations with several different women. Hi Elena, this is a very timely reminder for all the guys out there who have serious intentions to court, date and marry an East European lady. Then I suggest eastern European women get educated and stop playing silly games. Marriage is not a game nor is proper communication between people. So lets stop the silly immature games and be grown up about dating and looking for a partner. Why would a guy want to date a woman who cant properly express her feelings and must be chased like a stalker. You have just turned me off eastern European women. david, you have a valid point! There is no need for you to even consider dating Eastern European women if you think their cultural beliefs are “silly games”. You are better off to stick with what you know, accept and feel comfortable with! As a Russian girl I can totally agree that we like to give our potential boyfriends a hard time. Because of that sometimes men who know about this think that they can win a girl over by acting like a stalker, when she is really just not interested. I’d say if I liked a guy, I wouldn’t want to lose him. So I would try to give him a hint or two. Probably… Well, I guess dating is not so simple with FSU women, after all.
