Christmas decorations are already at the stores and this year went by just like in a dream. Time to plan for Christmas holidays, but with the current situation over half of Russians decided to stay at home. Still, 1 in 20 people have already booked hotels and tickets.
Over half of seasoned Russian travellers are staying home for Christmas 2020
Online booking website Tutu.ru asked its users about travel plans for the end of this year and most of them are going to stay at home. 54% of respondents in a recent poll stated they definitely do not intend to take a holiday trip this year.
- By comparison, only 5% of respondents indicated they have already booked a hotel and purchased tickets to spend a Christmas vacation somewhere.
- Further 15% of survey participants hope to make reservations soon and are busy comparing costs and planning where to go.
- 26% of users aren’t sure whether they will take a holiday away or not, and feel it’s too hard to plan ahead at the moment.
Turkey is the preferred holiday spot for Russians, Ukrainians this year
Cheap prices and all-inclusive options made Turkish hotels highly attractive for Russian tourists, who consider such a vacation better priced than taking a tour to Crimea, for instance.
One more advantage this year is the fact that Turkey is open to visitors from both Russia and the USA. Many international couples who connected on Elenasmodels.com opted to meet in Turkey, while others used Istanbul as a connection to fly from Russia to the USA.
Fiancée visa applications are being approved for the USA citizens. Wives of American citizens also are allowed to fly to the States and able to do it if they can get flights.
Other meeting options include Montenegro and other European states that allow entry to citizens of both countries where two people reside.
