Different countries have their own customs and this includes relationships. Women from Russia are used to a certain way how males and females interact, this affects the way you approach your dating.
Tip #1 for dating women from Russia: They are proud of their Motherland
Every person is proud of the place where they were born. Whether you met the woman who was born in Russia in New York, USA, or she still resides in her homeland, there is still some kind of pride about her native land.
Or Motherland, how Russians love to call it (“Rodina“).
A woman can be so upset about your saying anything negative about her Motherland that she may not want to talk to you ever again.
It’s like if you said something negative about her Mom. Doesn’t matter if she is mad about her Mom… She can complain about her family and you can only be sympathetic about her plight, but never really say anything bad about the person’s family. Right?
It’s a very similar feeling every Russian — a man or a woman — has about their Motherland (aka “Rodina“). They are allowed to have something negative to say about it and you should not.
Because they actually know it and you, if you haven’t lived there for years, do not.
It’s a simple gesture of respect to avoid saying anything negative about something that is dear to the other person.
So, no matter how well you know Russian realities, avoid saying anything that could be interpreted as negative about her home country.
You are welcome to ask questions and her opinions, and she may be very happy to tell you in detail. Still, try not to be judgemental or compare it to how things are in your country. People tend to be defensive about their family and Russia is “Mother” for people who are born there. This is how they were brought up.
