What do residents of Russia rate as important in life? Find out!
Survey: What Russians rate as important in life
The All Russian Public Opinion Research Centre got answers to the question what locals rate as vital in life.
WCIOM has been monitoring the situation since 2014 and health remains the #1 priority for locals that they rate higher than anything else.
Security is the second characteristic that is vital for the people living in Russia, with stable wages taking the third place.
People were asked to rate the importance from 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest importance and 1 being unimportant.
Basically, all parameters scored quite high in the rating, with the quality and accessibility of food being #5 with just four decimal points lower than the #3 position on the list (4.51 vs. 4.55). Ecology is even a higher priority at 4.52 (#4 on the list).
- Access to medical care is important as well, rated at the sixth place with 4.48 score.
- Comfortable living conditions scored 4.45, while quality education collected 4.47.
- Access to Internet and phone scored 4.21.
- Professional career didn’t score that high in comparison: only 3.85, just below accessibility of high quality items of clothing, furniture, appliances and cars (3.87).
Stepan Lvov from WCIOM, the Centre’s head of research, commented that concerns of aged locals are obvious and they are connected not only with their health. “Status, interests, the tone of life, the circle of communication of this group are just some elements of the quality of life at any age, which attract more attention of our colleagues researchers, psychologists, economists, and even educators”, Lvov said.
The survey was ran as a part of Bayer Barometer project. 1200 respondents took part in the phone poll in August 2018.

So, let me get this straight: It is NOT to crush your enemies, drive them in front of you, and hear the lamentations of their women?
:p
Sorin, this was supposed to be a joke, right? 😮
The indications of these factors have changed very little. Maybe to survive in Russia you need to have something else besides security and good home improvement – faith, hope and patience. And often for Russians it`s enough to have only these three things.
